Harborside Health Center is a collective of patients. In order to enter our facilities you need to register as a member of the collective, which involves signing an agreement stating your intention to relate with Harborside as such. This in no way limits you ability to cultivate your own medicine, infringes upon your legal limits or prevents you from joining another collective; it simply states your intention to be an active member of the collective.
Are there any membership fees?
No. There are no membership fees whatsoever.
What do I need to become a member?
You need to bring a valid california ID and proof of your status as a medical patient. If you bring a medical id card issued by OCBC, or the State of California, we will honor it on the spot. If you bring your doctor's note, we simply need to call and verify it with your Doctor's office, so please make sure to come in during the hours that your doctor is available.
Can I get pre-verified?
We might be able to verify you ahead of time if your doctor does not require that we fax your recommendation to them. Simply call and we can walk you through the process. If you have an OCBC card, or a State or County-issued medical ID card, then you will not need to be verified at all.
How do I become a medical marijuana patient?
There are many websites that can walk you through the process, but essentially if you suffer from a medical condition which interferes with you ability to perform normal social activities, you can obtain a recommendation from a California licensed Medical Doctor to use medical marijuana. While any doctor can sign your recommendation, most Doctor will not do so out of fear of prosecution. Therefore there are Doctors whose sole medical practice is to issue these recommendations. You can find lists of such doctors at CANORML and more information on the subject at the Americans for Safe Access websites.
How do I get an OCBC card?
The Oakland Cannabis Buyer's Cooperative issues a medical ID card for $25. The advantage of the card, other than being laminated, is that it is recognized in most dispensaries in the Bay Area as a way to gain access without further verification. The OCBC is on 1733 Broadway in Oakland.
Can I use a State ID card?
Yes. We also recognize the State ID card, which is also issued by the OCBC (see question above). The State ID card is sponsored by the state of California, costs twice as much as the OCBC card and takes longer to obtain. Please note that the office of the California Attorney General has also disclosed its willingness to share patient information collected by the State ID card program with the federal government. The OCBC card, by contrast is cheaper and your information will not be shared with anyone without a subpoena or your express permission. Both cards are issued in the same place: the OCBC.
Do you require the State ID card or California Medical Cannabis Patient id?
No. There are some dispensaries that require a Medical ID card. In accordance with State Bill 420, we will honor your doctor's statement provided we can reach your doctor's office to verify it.
How can I find out what you have? Do you have a menu?
We do not have an online menu. However, we carry over 50 different types of buds, plus all our edibles and concentrates. If we don't have what you are looking for, we probably have something you will like.
Do you carry clones?
We do not carry clones. Due to recent Federal activities we have discontinued the sale of clones. It is our hope and our belief that there will be a change in political climate and we may return to offer clones in the future.
